Tyler's Out

Tyler's out but not down after seeing the doctor for his dislocated shoulder. Dr. Karzel is a sports medicine orthopedist who was the doctor on the Hart sideline on Friday night. He is the one who "popped" Ty's arm back into the socket. He confirmed that there is no fracture. But he said that Ty has 4-6 weeks of recovery time ahead of him.
The ligaments are attached to the should via a ring of tissue called the labrum. Dr. K. thinks Ty completely tore the labrum off the shoulder. He said most people treat this surgically, but he doesn't want to do it on this first dislocation. So he gave him some exercises and told him to rest it. He also said that Ty was one of the toughest kids he has ever seen since he has been doing this. He was impressed that Ty handled the pain amazingly.
So Ty will be on the sideline this week when his team plays a very tough game. But he has to get ready for school volleyball and church basketball!! Those are critical things!
